Ride to the Kingdom of Unexpected Treasures

On the way home from the birthday party Lucas went to this afternoon, we passed Jerudong Park. I had earlier in the day seen some posters for this '1st Brunei Bike Week'-thing that was supposed to go on there over the weekend, and I thought - let's check it out!
Ha ha, anywhere else in the world, you would probably not bring children anywhere near anything that said 'Bikers Meet', but here, why not?

Lucas and I had a great time walking around checking out all the shiny, polished, specked up bikes! There were a lot of Harley Davidson bikes, that Lucas knew from their visit at school; but also other kinds of choppers, racing bikes, classics, dressed-up scooters, some racing cars - and lots of people!

Check these dudes out - look like real, raw bikers but they were the nicest guys; offered Lucas to sit on their bikes for the photos etc. He declined though (probably because I had told him very sternly before entering not to touch a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g!).

Cool Mini cars:

The 'Head Hunters M.G'?? Really? Scary name...

The 'Kayans'. There are apparently a lot more bikers clubs than I knew of here in Brunei!

Very cool helmet:

Lucas and some other 'dudes'. I had to pretend taking a photo of Lucas to get their photo, that's why he's a bit blurry. But check out the scull decorations on the bike behind him:

A tiger painted bike:

Some bikers off for a ride. I was a bit late with the camera, but at least I got this shot that shows that massive back wheel! It really impressed Lucas!

Don't say nothing ever happens in Brunei! :)

Mr Watson Family,
Greatly appreciate your compliments for the Brunei Bike Week. An article with a punch to say how bikers really are and what Brunei can offer. We shall meet you all again next year. On behalf of the community here and for Independent Motorcycle Club Brunei Chapter, we sincerely thank your review.
