Sommarlov!

Of course, it depends who you talk to down here, since there are so many Aussies and Kiwis not everybody refers to this break as summer holiday (=sommarlov) as we do - but just "the long break".
No matter what we call it though - it has now started! Now we have seven lovely weeks of holiday in front of us! Aaahhh...

It was a bit sad though at the last day of school. More for me than for Lucas I think. They had a big party at Kindy, and all us parents and siblings were invited to take part. Everyone had brought a little dish, and they were really having a fiesta with fairy cakes, cheese and crackers, sandwiches, sausages, fruit, jelly, juice etc...

The kids had been allowed to wear party clothes and all the girls were so pretty in their nice dresses while all the boys came in their superhero outfits... (It's funny how differently they interpret "party clothes" at this age!)

The music was on and there was dancing and games before we picked up all the last drawings and books and went home to have holiday.

Next year Lucas is moving up to Reception, unfortunately with only one other boy from his class (they are all getting split up into three classes next year), but I'm sure he will find new friends too. I can't believe we have already been here in Brunei for a whole year, and that my little boy is growing up so fast.
