Ryvita & IKEA, our year as JMs

My year as a JM at the H3 Hash has come to an end.
One of the happenings at the yearly Founders Day, is that the H3 Committee gets changed, and Anna and I have now "passed on the torch" to two new JMs. We've really had so much fun doing the job, we could've continued - but the Hash really benefits from a bit of a fresh look at things, so it's all good! I'm sure Hash Hound and Wonder Woman will do a wonderful job and I'm looking forward to being able to take a bit more of a relaxed approach to the on-ons again from now on! :)

Let's take a look at our year as JMs - here's the best of Ryvita and IKEA!
It's all started at last years Founders Day, with a fairytale theme, we were mermaids:

We've been very busy welcoming close to 30 (!) new members to the Hash, here's two of them receiving their gift and the Hash Rule Book:

We've also said goodbye to a few hashers, and equally some very good friends, who have left the country this year. Here's Cheeky Czeck and Mother Nurture, on their last hash:

We've celebrated Chinese New Year, always one of my favourite runs of the year:

We celebrated the Mid-Year Hash with new t-shirts, tons of glow sticks, and some hash christenings:

 We did a pink run in October, for Breast Cancer Awareness:

 We celebrated the 50 years of hashing in Brunei in February, with a funky run:

But also at the BH3, Men's Hash, with a big weekend happening at the Yacht Club:

Of course we celebrated the Swedish National Day in June, with a Swedish run, at my house.

We celebrated a BRIT run in September:

Founders Day 2012

One of the highlights of the hashing year sure is the Founders Day in November each year - the hash where we celebrate the year that was and change our Hash Committee.

Yesterday was my 5th Founders Day, you can see the previous ones here: 'Hashing in the year 2100', 'Mardi Gras Hash', 'Wild Wild West Hash' and 'Walk the Hash'.
This years theme was 'Nursery Rhymes and Fairy Tales' and there was a wide array of costumes at the Yacht Club where we were celebrating.

Quite a few awards were handed out, as usual, as we did some reminiscing over the hashes of the past year. Anna won an award (her own mini-horn!) for being Front Horn the most times this year (and every year I would guess!):

And I won an award again too! Together with my co-hares, we got an award for the "Hardest (on your
feet) run"! It was the hash we had to change last minute to a pure road run, because the bulldozers had gotten to our hash site before us and there was no jungle left at our site all of a sudden...

We decided it was about time we rejoined the Hash Committee this year. I've already been the Word Bird, and Anna has done Hash Shop and Hash Water. So this year we decided to take up not just any old position... -

... no, we are actually THE NEW H3 JMs!
We are going to rule the roost from now on, ha ha! It'll be great fun!

Being a JM at the Hash has been so much fun, I can't believe it's been a whole year since the last Founders Day already, when we took over the position. 

Anna and I have been lucky and haven't had any dramas or problems; we've just been doing our job, week after week, it's been pretty much the same undertakings each week, and we've had a great time.
It's probably also felt like an easy task for us thanks to our compatibility. Anna and I truly think very much alike, we do things very much the same way, we've had the same ideas, thoughts and goals along the way, and we've been working closely together this whole year, while having a lot of fun.

Lucky it's been fun, because the last few... months... and especially the last couple of weeks - it's been all about the Hash. Founders Day is coming up this Tuesday, and after having spent countless hours planning and getting set, we're now very much in the final preparations. It's beyond hectic!
I'm excited and nervous all at the same time - it's needs to be a great night because it certainly is the one celebration all the hashers are looking forward to. I'm sure it will be great though, we have so many fabulous things planned, and it's (mostly) all under control...! :)
