The sounds of winter

We took a bit of a walk in the winter today. It's so beautiful.

There are a few sounds that just equals winter to me, like the creaking of the snow under your feet when you walk through it. It's not just the sound, it's the sensation of it crunching.

I also like the sound of the snowsuits brushing against themselves when the kids walk. "Swosch-swosch-swosch"... winter.

The snow was really deep in places, and the kids just loved trudging through it!

And Lucas was making endless snow angels:

Mormor was collecting some branches of juniper:

She got stuck in the deep snow, and Linnea had to help her!

We also tried to build some mini snowmen with all the fresh snow that fell last night.

I feel so lucky that the kids get to experience a real winter, with all this snow and the cold; and especially at Christmas time. Usually this kind of weather, if it happens, doesn't arrive until well after Christmas.
I hope we're creating many good winter memories for them.
