Simpang coffee

Our Malaysian neighbours are leaving Brunei next month to move back to KL. It's a shame because Lucas & Linnea have always played really well with their children; it's been nice for them to have had friends just next door to play with outside in the afternoons. Hopefully another family will move in.

So yesterday Misuzu organized a little coffee morning for us girls, a relaxed get-together, before they move.

Apart from the usual conversation, we also had a few interesting discussions about culture and religion, and I learned a few things I didn't know before.
It's always enriching to get people from different countries (Malaysia, Japan, Sweden this time), cultures and beliefs together - and that's really one of the things I like the most about Brunei; here you get to make friends with people from all over the world. It feels like a great gift.
That our children are growing up with such a wide view of the world, and that they are naturally completely open-minded towards other cultures and traditions - is something I'm truly grateful for.

And all it took was a couple of banana muffins and some neighbourly chitchat to remind me of that!
