Tuesday Theme - Sommar

I have been slacking a bit with the Tuesday Theme lately, and today I'm not even going to show you some current photos, but some from about a year ago.

Today's theme is Sommar (=summer), and even though I live in constant summer, and is lucky enough to be able to go to NZ in their summer, etc - there is only one real summer for me, and that is the Swedish summer.
Maybe it is because it is so short and precious, maybe it is because of the midnight sun and the magical light; maybe it is because I want my kids to have the same lovely summers as I did... It sure is something else anyway!

So, here are a few pictures from last summer, in Sweden:

V is for Vegetables

Today's Tuesday Theme is "Mat" (=food); and very appropriately, today's adventures included a vegetable market!

Lucas' Kindy class was going on an excursion with the bus today, to the Sengkurong vegetable market. I had offered to come along as a helper, and of course I brought my camera!





We were actually six parents coming today, so plenty of adults to help the kids pick and choose their veggies. We each took a few of the children around the market.
We had such a great time!





I had Lucas and Malthe in my little group, and they had $3 each to shop for, which equaled a fortune at the market. Especially since they only bought two or three pieces of each vegetable, and actually got most of it free! (They normally sell them by kilo of course.)
We spent about $4.50, and got all sorts of veggies: potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, salad, carrots, beetroot, green beans, bananas (not a veggie, I know...), aubergine, orcha, tomatoes, pumpkin and some funny-looking ones we bought just because they looked funny - I had no idea what it was!



Tomorrow the kids are going to use the vegetables to make a vegetable soup, and also do some veggie printing I think.

Tuesday Theme - Fritid

Today's Tuesday Theme is fritid (=free time/spare time).

Obviously, with young kids, there isn't too much of that; but every now and then while they are playing nicely or watching a movie, I sit down here, at my scrap table:



I love my scrapping! I don't have a proper scrap-corner (there is no room for that in this house), it's all a bit temporary, but I do enjoy having a little bit of my own space, even if it's just a desk.

Tuesday Theme 15 January - Tre

Today's Tuesday Theme is tre (=three).
Looking around me and seeing my daughter in the sofa in front of the morning tv with her little friends, made me take this photo:



This is Linnea's posse. These three guys follow her everywhere. From left to right, it's Pooh, Dockan (=Dolly) and Teddy.



Pooh arrived since Linnea kept stealing Lucas' Pooh-bear all the time. He has a slightly bigger one, in light blue (the old-fashion style) and she took a liking to it, so we had to give her her own.
Dockan joined the group shortly after Linneas 1st birthday. She got a lot bigger doll for her birthday, but she simply couldn't carry it around, so I bought this cheap little one for her to play with, until she grew in to the other one. It turned out to be a strong favourite though. Dockan usually wears a yellow pyjamas, but Linnea likes taking her clothes on and off (mostly off) at the moment, so Dockan is mostly without them.
Teddy was a gift from Griffin's Dad Chris in the UK. Griffin's parents were looking after the kids one day (while Nathan and I were car-booting), and Linnea had spent all day playing with one of his old teds. So when it was time to go home, he said she could keep it! That too, has been a favourite ever since, she loves that teddy!

The Tuesday theme of today is kök (=kitchen), so here it is, our yummy dinner, IN the kitchen:

Tuesday Theme 13 November - Sverige idag, ute

I have skipped the photo for todays Tuesday Theme, since it is a bit difficult for me, for obvious reasons. The theme is Sverige idag, ute (=Sweden today, outside).
Here is a little bit of 'Sweden outside' though. I wouldn't mind having a bit of snow too, just for one day or so!

Tuesday Theme 30 October - Trasig

Todays Tuesday Theme is trasig (=broken). I have chosen to upload an old favorite, which was the first "trasig" that came to mind.
This is Lucas in August 2005, 19 months old, - after I left him home alone with Daddy...



He had fallen over on the corner of the sofa table, straight on his eyebrow. It was bleeding so much, that Nathan thought it was best to take him to the doctor. He was such a brave little man, not a tear or anything.
He got a couple of butterfly stitches and a big plaster, and got sent home again.
His face says it all though..!

Tuesday Theme 23 October - Saknad

Saknad (= to miss, missing)
This is on my "miss-list" constantly, together with a feeling of missing lots of other places, and people too...
I guess you have to live with that, moving about as we do.
